Obama Eligibility Cases Continue to SCOTUS: Wrotnowski vs Bysiewicz

without comments

Leo Donofrio’s emergency stay application to the Supreme Court was denied today.  As disappointing as that may be, Donofrio has been hinting for some time that the Wrotnowski case in the state of Connecticut was stronger than his, due to problems in how the NJ case was handled in the lower courts.

Wrotnowski vs Bysiewicz was referred to the full Supreme Court for their conference on December 12.   The issue of Barack Obama’s status as a natural born citizen of the US is still alive.   In a nutshell:  the Constitution requires that the President be a NATURAL  BORN citizen, which is different than a naturalized citizen and also different than a citizen by statute.  Legal precedent has been that the term ‘natural born’ refers to a person whose parents are both citizens at the time of his birth and the birth took place within the jurisdiction of the US.  So what are we going to go with?  Are we going to follow legal precedent or are we going to make it up?  Those are the only choices we have.

Do you realize that the consequences of this case going unresolved are that ANYONE AT ALL, as long as s/he is a ‘person’ can be President of the United States if  the political party SAYS they are eligible?  What has happened during this election means that ANYONE can provide a fraudulent birth certificate and NO ONE will check it out.  A candidate’s eligibility for office cannot be challenged by ordinary citizens.  Please understand what I am saying here: my argument is that as long as enough people ‘believe’ in a candidate, his credentials apparently are not open to public examination.

The majority of Americans do not understand what this issue is all about.  There is no conspiracy here.  This is a point of Constitutional interpretation that simply needs to be made clear.  The Supreme Court knows the consequences of doing nothing.  This will not end here.
